So apparently back before I started this blog (so, before yesterday), I had a lot of really cool/ fun things going on. I just hope my life stays that active so I can chat it up on here quite frequently.
Back in October, my boyfriend of seven years/ my ‘high school sweetheart’ and I went on our very first long vacation to the Bahamas. When you have the ultimate food beverage package tied to warm weather, parasailing and coconut drinks, what more could you ask for?
Let me just say – if you’ve never been on one, I strongly encourage you go. I paid a little over a grand for myself, but 100% worth it. We went with the Norwegian Sky, a “freestyle” cruise ship as they call it. So basically, instead of having a formal night or a themed apparel night where you do such and such activity, you dress however you want, whenever you want. My kind of vacation.
The way it worked is our ship took off from Miami, took us to three different islands over the span of three different days (apparently there’s over 700 so never a shortage). We went to Nassau, the Grand Cayman Islands and the Great Stirrup Cay and could roam around for 8 hours or so on each. Around 5, we’d all board the boat to take off to the next destination. But! The ship was too great: a casino, a dozen bars, some restaurants, a basketball court, a game room, a show room, a theatre… the list goes on and on. So, when you were off the ship you had no idea what you were going to do, unless you booked an excursion. But when you were on board, you were gambling or eating or playing basketball or drinking or watching ‘Deal or No Deal’. Needless to say, we pretty much winged it and ended up sunburned with lots of drinks in our hands.
